Love Poem:
This ornate poem inscribed in flourishing Roman script, has a carefree and flowing rhythm. The elaborate border was designed to give the poem a modern version of medieval art (illuminated manuscripts). The artistic creation of each letter and design in various colours, styles and shapes makes it a work of art in itself.
The Teacher Poem:
This poem is done on parchment paper in Italic calligraphy script. I drew the capitals in black ink then painted in watercolours for an artistic and personal touch. Many scripts, styles and designs of letterings may be selected to suit the special someone in your life.
Desiderata:
Inscribed in the Roman script, this modernized hand lettering style is clear and simple, a good choice for many words in a small area. I added a decorative border design to create an austere atmosphere for the viewer.
How to Stay Young Poem:
The use of simple hand lettering with a creative flair gives this poem its unique personality. The letter design, carefully executed, is a fine example of a calligraphy masterpiece.
Greeting/Note Cards:
A simple note for a special occasion can become a personal keepsake. I hand lettered this note in the Freehand script. This style, with flair, allows the eye to flow easily across the page. The Italic text is my trademark style and is a classic favourite.
Invitation:
Another version of the classic Italic script portrays its simplicity in lettering and design, surrounded by a floral border. This suits an outdoor cottage-garden style wedding.
Invitation:
Roundhand copperplate calligraphy is used for the master invitation, rsvp and thank you cards. After printing, the hand painting of the floral border was added to give the invitation a unique personal touch.
Invitation:
An elegant wedding invitation executed in the Penmanship script. I hand drew and hand painted the roses on each invitation for a special, one-of-a-kind personal touch.
Invitation:
This wedding invitation is hand lettered in Italic calligraphy. I added in the subtle lines to give it a more traditional character. Each flower, hand painted, brings a soft touch to this memorable occasion.
Envelope Addressing:
Addresses on envelopes may be inscribed in various styles and scripts of calligraphy. Shown here is my classic Penmanship style, used for elegant and formal occasions. Other scripts are used for less formal occasions.
Place Card Samples:
Shown here are a few place card samples reflecting penmanship and various italic scripts ranging from bold to light strokes in modern or traditional styles. Calligraphy scripts, sizes and colours create a special, personalized impression for your guests. These place cards are customized to meet individual wishes.
Province of Ontario Scroll:
This certificate was commissioned by the Province of Ontario for the Members of Parliament. I used a combination of Old English and Italic scripts for the name, title and date. The use of Old English for the name gives it prominence, whereas the Italic blends in with the text, creating an official and professional image.
Upper Canada College Diploma:
Old English calligraphy is used in this ornamental work of art, giving recognition and prestige to the student as they are presented their personalized diploma at graduation ceremony. Each name and year is handwritten onto the diplomas.
North York Firefighters Certificate:
Flourishing Italic scripting embellishes the certificate and portrays the company name in a logotype design. Roman script is used for the text inscription. The combining of different scripting styles gives the certificate a unique look.
Equinox Charter:
I was commissioned by an accounting firm to give a traditional character to an official document for display in the office. I used Old English script, popular for legal, religious and traditional documents or diplomas.
John Howard Society Certificate:
The inscription is penned in a version of Roman script to match the printed text above. The names were done in the same script. The matching calligraphic fonts add a warm personal touch for the recipients receiving their awards. People love receiving a hand lettered award, certificate or diploma they know it's one-of-a-kind.
Quotation:
This quotation portrays my favourite calligraphy trademark in the Italic script. Its classic style is perfect for many modern or traditional types of writings; whether it be a diploma, certificate, poem, invitation, envelope address, place card, menu or family tree. This popular script makes for easy everyday reading and can be drawn plain or flourishing.
I Said a Prayer for You Today Poem:
This poem is done in Italic calligraphy inscribed on parchment paper. The simple design of each letter gives the poem its own artistic style. The reader focuses on the words. An ornate frame would finish this piece perfectly.
